Some Trick of Yahoo! Messenger

Here I want share 2 tricks on Yahoo! Messenger.

1. Get the latest Yahoo! Messenger installer direct download link.

Firstly download the small setup file from http://messenger.yahoo.com/download/win/.
Follow the introduction until it starts downloading the installer. Now go to find a text file named SUITELOG.TXT in your windows account's temporary folder:

For Vista user:
C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp\SUITELOG.TXT
For Windows XP user:
C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Temp\SUITELOG.TXT
(Replace "user" to your windows account name)

Open it and you will see the similar text below:

Look for bold URL above. That's it. You've found the direct download link of the latest Yahoo! Messenger.


2. Remove Yahoo! Messenger Ads

Simply download this batch file http://ionutalexchitu.googlepages.com/noYMads2.bat, completely close your Yahoo! Messenger, and then execute the batch file which is downloaded. Now restart your Yahoo! Messenger, and ads is gone.

This tricks works fine on YM 9 as I did myself. I haven't tried yet whether it works on YM 8 or not. But in an article, Remove Ads from Yahoo Messenger which I found the batch file from there, said that it works fine on both YM 9 & 8.
